I have a hp deskjet 712c that has been working fine. When printing some images some of the colors are washing out. I created a doc with red, blue and green to test. The red is pink, the green is aqua, and the blue is more purple than blue. I have changed the cartridges? Any ideas......

From the colors you describe, it sounds like your yellow ink isn't printing. Try running the head cleaning procedure in the printer software. If that doesn't work, you may have a defective cartridge

The printer driver should have a toolbox that allows you to prime the cartridges. Along with black you should get the primary colors yellow, cyan, and magenta on the printout. No other colors are possible. If they don't look right, the ink in the cartridge is mixed. If a color is missing, clean the cartridge and carriage electrical contacts and do it again. If the priming page looks okay, print a Windows printer test page. Do you get the proper colors on the Microsoft flag? If you do, the printer is working properly. If not delete and reinstall the printer driver.
If everything above comes out postive, it must be the program you are running.
