My Brother MFC-7840W printer says "no paper" and won't feed the paper when there is plenty in the tray. Help!?

The paper holders in the tray that keep the papers from moving around are fit around the paper. It just isn't picking the paper up to feed it.
-I can hear the printer trying to feed the paper, and it just makes a lot of clicks but no luck. If I push up on the bottom of the tray while it tries to print, then it will feed the paper, but this hurts my fingers and we have been doing that for almost a year now. It's time to fix this issue! Any thoughts or suggestions?

* Make sure that the plastic 'boarders' are tightly surrounding the paper inside the tray from all sides (they can be slide back and forth a few inches - the 'reen paper guide' page 22 in the manual).
* Look for a little switch on the back of the printer that switches the printing - from the paper tray or the 'fast tray'manual, feed slot (it's a panel that folds out of the printer and paper is laid upon).              Source(s):        http://static.highspeedbackbone.net/pdf/…
