Error message says print head must be replaced. Any ideas to make the old one come back to life?
Print head has little use. Went bad after a paper jam. Recently tried using refill-type ink. Is that the problem?

Hey, I had the same problem with Canon S900. For the first time I've re-filled my cartridges and immediately after the printer displayed an error message with blinking led (1 time green, 7 times orange). I've cleaned up the "waste ink tank" and the print head and I tried a reset of the printer, but no result. Problem still not fixed. Any help out there...? Thanks, A.!

Oops! Mea culpa... I do have a different Canon model. (BJC-3000) I was so happy to find a fix for my printer, I forgot that it was a different model from the original post. But I would still check out Staples... they may have what you need. :-)

Thought the S900 printhead should have come with 6 ink cartrigdges. Glad to know they are carries at Staples at a much better price than from Canon direct ($89 wo ink!)

I found the print head at Staples for $53.00. It came with 4 new ink tanks, so I figured the money I paid out was an investment in ink tanks. Helped to ease the pain a little. :-)

I am getting the same error message to replace my print head. I've been to Best Buy and Office Max and they don't have them. I've also searched the web to no avail. Any idea where to get a replacement print head?????

Hi! I just wanted to say thank you, Aileen, for your post... it helped me fix a very frustrating problem that I'd been having with my Canon BJC-3000 printer. It had quit printing the magenta and blue inks, and I tried everything to fix it. I finally changed out my off-brand ink tanks (because of your post) with the Canon brand ink tanks, and that fixed the problem! Yay! I had no idea the solution could be so simple. Thanks again... saved me alot of additonal frustration!

Hi! I read from somewhere in the internet that using refill-type(or not the prescribed ink for the printer) eventually causes damage to the printhead nozzles. Its the composition or the texture of the ink that destroys the print head. try un-installing and installing the printer.
Or have it checked with an authorized CANON service center.
GOOD LUCK!
