I have a CP1700. Its giving me continous printhead bad messages on the LCD. I changed the printheads, still to no avail.
What can I do?? is there some workaround to this or the unit is faulty? which part would be defective?

If someone can please give me the part numbers to the parts that are referred to in this thread (cleaning station & carriage board), I would be forever in their debt. I tried looking up the numbers on the HP website, but couldn't find them. I even called HP, but they couldn't find the part numbers either.
I am experiencing this same printhead problem, & HP tells me it would be cheaper to buy a new printer than to repair my cp1700. But I like this printer & don't want to learn new software....I just want this printer to work! Thanks so much.

Hi Mikec,
Thanks. The carriage I think is the cleaning station. Call HP to make sure thanks. Don't want to give the wrong info. After you find out please post back here so we all know if they have the same problem as Ramon or you.

Hi Nakkoush,
You can go to HP parts and then order it. You have to specift what kind of printer you have and then they will list the parts for you.

hey ramon
which parts did you replace exactly and what are the part numbers? looks like i'm having the same problem and it's very frustrating! also were the parts and the effort worth the trouble or would it be better to just buy a new printer. Thanks!

Replacing both carriage board and cleaning station solved the problem.
Also I notoiced that the flex-cable of the carriage board was a bit 'twisted'....

To Ramon
The error c013xxx are errors called firmware errors usually related to the logic board, and from my experience its usually will get worse and the unit will need to be serviced,

Tnx for the info. It also gives me a C0132A45 error on the LCD and both LEDs blink rapidly.

First, does the printer get used a lot? The printer may be dirty with ink build-up in the printer. The best way to check this (if you haven't lubricated yet) is to see how much ink build-up is on the carriage rail. Another way to tell is if you lift the top cover and see how dirty with ink build-up under the cover. If this is the case you may need to replace or clean the service station, which may have a build-up of ink on the cleaning wiper blades, which in turn are damaging the printheads.

Hi Ramon,
I am doing a search for you error message that is displaying on your LCD printer but I did not find anything. I suspect that the sensors are corrupted. Can you please turn on the printer and write down the error code so I can search more info on your error message? Also try cleaning your "Contacts" on the printheads maybe that can cause that to display that message. Even you you switch to the new printheads try cleaning inside the machine. I hope it solves your problem

It is displaying on the LCD "Attention replace cyan, magenta and yellow printheads" with random colors. Sometimes it specifies to replace C, M and Y, sometimes even K alone. I replaced all to no avail. Also once it gave a CTxxxxx error (which I forgot to write down) and both LEDs blinked very rapidly.
Any help?

It can be the sensor of the printhead of the printer. But please tell us the message what it says so we can diagnose the problem.
